After the bath, the next step in grooming is to attend to the dog’s teeth. Use good dog toothpaste and toothbrush to clean the dog’s teeth. This will prevent tartar accumulation and cavities, which in turn can lead to other complications like gingivitis. A dog with gingivitis will be unable to chew bones. Use a good brush the dog is comfortable with. If necessary, consult a veterinarian.

Next, clean the dog’s ears with a dog ear cleaner. It is easy to clean the inner surface of the ears by using a cotton ball wetted with ear cleaner. Accumulation of ear wax and other impurities may lead to infection and deafness. Some dogs have long hairs, which are likely to enter the ears and block them, spreading infection. Proper cleaning of the ears with a dog ear cleaner can prevent all these health hazards.
